Body Composition Evaluation
Dexa scans are the gold standard of body composition testing. Dexa allows us to understand bone mineral density, lean body mass and fat mass. Bone density is an important metric as it helps us to understand risk of fractures. Fractures particularly hip fractures have a high morbidity and mortality. Lean mass ratios are important in understanding muscle mass. We know that low muscle mass is associated with cognitive decline, low bone density and those with lower muscle mass appear to die earlier. For more information click here.

Fitness Testing AnalysisFitness confers significant healthspan benefits. VO2 Max testing is the gold standard of performance and fitness testing. The test is performed on a treadmill or stationary bike. A VO2 Max test looks at your bodies ability to use oxygen. It is the maximum volume of oxygen your body can use at a given time. We use the data to evaluate where patients are currently and create a plan with the goal of helping them move to the highest standardized fitness ranking. Being in the highest versus lowest ranking group has been shown to significantly decrease all cause mortality. For more information, click here.

Cognitive Health TestingOur brain health is fundamental to healthy aging. We offer baseline cognitive testing and lifestyle modification to maintain and hopefully prevent or slow down age related cognitive changes. We use CNS Vital Signs to better understand executive function, memory, processing speed, and other important functions. For more information, click here.

Hormone OptimizationAs men and women age, the production of many hormones decline. Hormones are the body's messengers responsible for many functions and waning levels can lead to poor energy, sleep, and libido, as well as weight gain, vaginal dryness and mental fogginess. Dr. Savagian has the training and experience to know which and by precisely how much to replenish decreased hormones. She administers hormones orally, transdermally and transmucosally. Hormones evaluated include: Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEA, Thyroid, Cortisol and Pregnenolone. For women considering hormone replacement therapy, Dr. Savagian recommends the book Estrogen Matters by Avrum Bluming and Carol Tavris.
